South Asian Women’s Day for Peace, Democracy, Justice and Human Rights (SAWD) 2023

Do you have a story of a South Asian woman who has made a difference and created an impact on your life/people’s lives?
We want to hear from you! South Asian Women’s Day for Peace, Democracy, Justice and Human Rights is observed on 30th November every year to highlight how violence has pervaded the social fabric of all the countries in the South Asian region, to protest against the militarisation of the region and to demand peace, justice, democracy and tolerance for all.

To commemorate SAWD this year, Sangat will be organizing a digital campaign from the 23 – 30 of November 2023 and share stories of South Asian women who have made a difference and created an impact in people’s lives on Sangat website and social media. We invite you to send us your stories of South Asian women who have made a difference and created an impact from the 5 – 18 of November 2023 to sawd2023.sangatnetwork@gmail.com. These stories should not exceed 250 words. The submissions can also be sent in video format not exceeding one minute. Please send us a picture of yourself and a picture of your inspiration.
